Days Of Future Past
July 13, 2009
Charlie and his wife left for Florida this weekend,
> having had a great time on our trip to Boston, for
> his 85th birthday. He wanted to go back to Boston
> again, so I guess he enjoyed himself. But, with no
> more house guests, the bride and I had a little
> quiet time this weekend to just relax, lay around
> with the cats and chill out.
>
> I took a little time, while filing the photos we took
> on the computer, to look at some of the family snapshots
> from years past. I tell you, Charlie hasn’t changed
> much in the last two decades–he looks just about
> the same.
>
> Family photos are funny. At the time you take them,
> where you are and what you’re doing seems most
> important. But after a few years, it’s the people
> in the photos that command your attention.
>
> It’s the same with home videos. When you look a them,
> you may see scenes of places and things, that were
> once important and held meaning for you, but you can
> no longer remember where, or why, you thought them
> worthy of recording.
>
> Again, it’s the people, family and friends, that
> capture your attention and command your interest.
> You look to see how people you care about have
> changed over the years, in some cases, remembering
> those who have passed on. In the end, it IS family
> and friends, the people you know and knew, those
> you love that matter.
>
> It’s the same thing with your own old photos and
> videos. You look with amazement at your younger
> self, your trim and buff young body and face. Then,
> you look up into the mirror and see jowls and belly
> fat that once weren’t there, obeying the pull
> of gravity and time. What a contrast!
>
> You wistfully ask yourself, “Where did that
> young guy (or girl) go?”
>
> Answer: he (or she) is still there, but buried under
> layers upon layers of pizza and beer, potato chips
> and burgers with fries, that have gradually, sloooowly
> accumulated around your face, midsection and elsewhere,
> over the days and weeks and years, like barnacles on
> a ship’s hull.
>
> Some of it IS the toll of time–the inexorable pull
> of gravity, lower hormone levels and the age-related
> degradation of our immune systems to the thousands of
> challenges of the passing years.
>
> But much of it is the toll taken by each of the
> choices we’ve made over time, choices like whether
> to exercise or lie on the couch, whether to eat that
> extra piece of cake, or that extra helping of
> French fries. Yet, by making different choices NOW,
> you CAN turn back the clock. Here’s how.
>
> First, get some weight off you. You don’t have to
> starve yourself; in fact, that simply doesn’t work.
> Starvation causes the body’s metabolism to shut down,
> to try to hold on to every ounce. Instead, make some
> better food choices, less a diet than a different way
> of eating.
>
> Use whatever works for you. I recommend a diet low
> in simple carbohydrates, which spike insulin secretion
> (which promotes increased conversion to fat), high
> in lean protein, with lots of fresh or raw vegetables
> and fruits (complex carbohydrates, which have a lower
> glycemic index, lots of antioxidants and fiber).
> Drink lots of water (not diet sodas, but plain water,
> or seltzer), to flush the kidneys, maintain tissue
> fluids and keep the bowels regular). And supplement
> your diet with my POWERHOUSE OMEGA FORMULA
>
> http://drbillsclinic.com/favorite_formulas.html
>
> an ultra pure, highly concentrated, enteric coated,
> pharmaceutical grade fish oil, to optimize your serum
> lipid levels, reduce arterial plaque formation AND
> your risk of heart disease (proven in multiple studies).
> It’s also great for your skin, your brain and has real,
> natural anti-inflammatory properties.
>
> Next, get off your butt and EXERCISE. No excuses,
> unless you’re in a body cast. Walking will do it–
> 10,000 steps a day, but build up to that. Anything
> will do and everything counts. As a great alternative,
> try COMBAT CONDITIONING, Matt Furey’s international
> best selling fitness program, that uses only your own
> bodyweight, for maximum results, but less chance of
> injury. I use this myself. See it here at:

> just the thing for you: my LITTLE GREEN BOOK for
> eliminating knee pain, with both conventional
> and alternative methods that WORK.

>
> Finally, if you want to boost your OWN growth hormone,
> for increased strength and flexibility, faster
> weight loss, lean muscle growth, better sleep,
> better intimacy, better skin and a literally younger
> immune system, but avoid an increased risk of cancer,
> a possibility with high dose injectable forms of hGH,
> then try what I use: Trans-D Tropin, a unique botanical
> cream that you just rub on your skin, 2-3 times a day.

>
> This stuff is terrific! And it’s a perfect complement
> to my super fish oil, for enhancing health and
> appearance.
>
> So there you have it: A simple, fundamental plan to
> turn back the hands of time, live longer, live fuller
> and be happier and healthier. Next time you hear the
> Moody Blues’ “Days of Future Past,” it’ll have a
> whole new meaning for you! Til next time, my friend,
> be well.
